As a Controls Engineers you will work in both an office environment when designing and engineering control systems and in an industrial environment. Controls Engineers work closely with the electrical contracting division as required. They are led by an experienced Project Manager and work with a team to design systems and develop code for complex automation projects. The Controls Engineer is expected to service a large customer base composed primarily of dairy processing, food processing, bottling, and packaging industries. Salary depends on experience.  Evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

  • BS in Engineering or 2 to 5 years’ experience in automated control systems integration
  • Experience developing PLC & HMI code
  • Experience troubleshooting control systems
  • Customer service and project oriented
  • Develop project documentation (IO list, device list, scope, FAT, SAT, etc.).
  • Perform FATs, commissioning, and SATs
  • Develop and troubleshoot PLC & HMI code as required
  • Design control systems networks and control panels
  • Perform job walks and develop project estimates
  • Attend off-site customer meetings
  • Participate with team of project engineers to develop projects as needed
  • Communicate in person or via telephone to identify clients’ needs
  • Coordinate panels, drafting and service work for key accounts
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Expertise with either ControlLogix, PLC-5, SLC-500, S7, GE, FTView SE, FTView ME, Wonderware, iFix, Ignition, ENet IP, CNet, DNet, DH+, RIO, ISA Symbology and P+IDs
  • Maintain and develop customer relationships 
  • Effectively communicate technical solutions for control system challenges
  • Able to interpret P&ID drawings and specifications, electrical design, network design, PLC & HMI development and electrical troubleshooting
